Ten Best New York Jets - A Completely Biased, Subjective List
The holidays are here. The New York Jets have won four games in a row. There is finally a big game at MetLife Stadium (read a full breakdown of Jets vs. Patriots right here). It is a good time for a completely biased and subjective top ten list. Follow on Twitter and subscribe to our Podcast on KFC Radio for annoying gloating after a Jets win this Sunday…
My randomly subjective ten best Jets of 2015 based on nothing but my personal opinion…
10. Chan Gailey (Born 1935 B.C.) Gailey looks and dresses like the world’s old substitute teacher as shown below
@TurnOnTheJets Nope, but all you need is a #Jets hat, vest, cool frames & a manila folder. Also known as #ChanSwag. pic.twitter.com/sOThxtLDHU

But you know who he isn’t? BRIAN SCHOTTENHEIMER! More seriously, it is refreshing to have a competent, intelligent, creative offensive coordinator. Not this:
9. Nick Mangold (All The Beard. All The Pancakes) Mangold looks like a character in Game of Thrones who lives behind the wall (see how much he terrified poor Fitz below) but has been great at his job from the day the Jets drafted him nearly a decade ago.
8. Eric Decker (72 catches, 930 yards, 10 TDs) The wise man mentioned at #10 put Decker in the slot this season and he has been cooking ever since. For all the “Product Of Peyton Manning” garbage, Decker has racked up 146 receptions, 1,892 yards and 15 TDs in 28 games as a Jet. He also made Mark Schlereth look incredibly dumb in the process, so cheers.
7. Calvin Pryor (61 tackles, 2 INTs, 1 FF) It is good to have a safety who can cover, hit like this and then call Ryan Tannehill on his BS.
6. Calvin Pace (Third human born after Adam & Eve, 20 tackles, 3 sacks) Calvin Pace has been on the Jets on a series of one year contracts since the beginning of time. He is the oldest, crankiest member of their roster and is still mildly productive. How can you not love him by this point? He also gave us this SI Cover:
5. Ryan Fitzpatrick (3,428 passing yard, 28 total TDs) Fitz has been the best version of Fitz possible this season for the Jets while avoiding any implosions. He kinda plays the game like a half drunk older brother trying to show out to the younger kids in a pickup game…and that’s GREAT. He has given the Jets their best season from a quarterback since 2002. Keep it going you crazy SOB!
4. Chris Ivory (1,164 yards, 8 TDs) This guy runs like a savage. A big thanks to the New Orleans Saints for handing him over for a 4th round pick. It sure doesn’t seem like they need him with all those handoffs Tim ‘freakin Hightower is getting these days.
3. Darrelle Revis (4 interceptions, 3 fumble recoveries)/Todd Bowles/Mike Maccagnan The new regime. Bowles has packed up the circus tents and brought accountability to the organization. Maccagnan put together an impressive first off-season as a GM, headlined by getting Darrelle Revis back and acquiring Fitz and Brandon Marshall for pennies.
I’m aware Twitter believes you can’t be a good CB unless you play cover 0 with no help against a #1 WR every week and allow 0 catches for 0 yards consistently but Revis has been great for the Jets in his return year. He has racked up turnovers, been steady in coverage and brought a needed credibility to their defense.
2. Muhammad Wilkerson (12 sacks, 56 tackles, 2 FFs) Wilkerson has balled out in a contract year, which isn’t good news for the Jets ability to negotiate with him this off-season. However, Wilkerson is one of the few first round picks that has unquestionably panned out for the Jets in recent years
1. Brandon Marshall (93 receptions, 1,261 yards, 11 TDs) You know what it has been like watching Jets wide receivers the past few years? Hell On Earth. The Jets used a second round pick on Stephen Hill and I’ve never seen a human being look more lost on a football field. I’ve seen critical third down slants thrown to Chaz Schilens. CHAZ SCHILENS. Greg Salas has been the “big play” guy for multiple weeks at a time. Jason Hill. David Nelson. Mardy Gilyard. The list goes on. So it has been INCREDIBLY refreshing to have one of the best receivers in the NFL. A Jets receiver having over 1,250 yards and 10 TDs in a single season is as rare as a Buffalo Bills playoff appearance.
