Did You Hear The One About Jahlil Okafor Being Stopped For Going 108 MPH Over The Ben Franklin Bridge?

ja

ESPN – Off-the-court incidents continue to mount for Philadelphia 76ers rookie Jahlil Okafor. Okafor was stopped by police on the Ben Franklin Bridge about three weeks ago for going 108 mph, The Philadelphia Inquirer reports. Going over 40 mph on the bridge, which spans the Delaware River and connects Philadelphia and Camden, New Jersey, is considered reckless driving, according to the report. This is not Okafor’s only run-in this season. Boston police announced this weekend that a man filed a report claiming that he was the victim in a fight with Okafor outside a nightclub early Thursday morning. That department had said Friday that it wouldn’t investigate the incident unless someone came forward. And in October, a heckler pointed a gun at Okafor’s head following a verbal exchange at a Philadelphia club, the Inquirer reported.

I mean, if we’re being honest here, that’s pretty impressive stuff to vault up to triple digits on a three-lane bridge that’s always riddled with traffic and construction. That’s some serious NASCAR shit. But they say avoidable shit you do to yourself bad things come in threes. Between the fight in Boston, the alleged gun incident in Old City, and Okafor going full Jeff Gordon on the Ben Franklin, let’s hope there are no more additions to this trifecta. I don’t know if this city can handle a Golden Sombrero of dumbass from Okafor.

Seriously though, and it’s not an excuse at all, but people have to understand Okafor is still just a kid. I don’t even want to go into the Tomfoolery I participated in at that age, and I didn’t have millions of bucks to dick around with. But with great power comes great responsibility. I know he’s not familiar with the stench of failure but when you’re apart of worst losing streak in American professional sports history, you’re gonna get heckled. Deal with it like a man. Time to start settling your shit, Jah, especially with the reckless driving. The last thing we need is another Jerome Brown memorial in this city. At least the Sixers PR department understands.
