Theo And Jeff Samardzija Shared A Beer At Newport Bar On Southport Last Night, Looks Like The Band Could Be Getting Back Together?

Little upset I didn’t get the invite to have a beer with the boys last night, not saying I’d be a good intermediary to lighten the mood but come on, be better Theo. Anyway, I’ve said this a few times in the past but I am all for a reunion with Samardzija. I know Sox fans hate his guts and think he’s a bum but if you look at his year he had stretches of old dominant Shark. Two things happened that sort of derailed his season. 1, he didn’t get traded at the deadline and was stuck on a losing team when he fully expected to go somewhere else. And 2, I don’t think he ever trusted Robin or Don Cooper. On the flip side he loves Bosio, the Cubs pitching coach, so why not take a shot at this? A 1 year “prove it” type of deal at more than the qualifying offer the Sox gave him to limit any concerns of bad Shark coming back makes perfect sense to me*.  Arrieta, Lester, Samardzija, whoever we get for Soler/Baez, and Hendricks. That’s a pretty good rotation right there. If you have Jeff Samardzija starting game 3 of a playoff series, that’s not a bad situation. He’s a known commodity who can eat innings and be valuable when he’s not the “ace” on a 100 loss team. Bring Shark back, and I’m not just saying that because I want to make a bunch of T-Shirts (but that also helps).
