Kmarko's NBA DraftKings Picks - November 17

kmarkoNBA

Welcome back to the daily DraftKings picks where we try to get super rich playing daily fantasy basketball. As usual I’ll do a brief recap of my lineups from the week before then throw out some picks that I’m brainstorming for this weekend, and hopefully get some good feedback/tips/picks from you guys either in the comment section or on Twitter @kmarkobarstool.

Last night’s tournament lineup was Power Moves Only.

Like I said, you take a big risk paying up for Westbrook…but when he goes off, you can’t cash in a tournament without him. Decided to ditch my fade strategy in the end and roll him out there, and I’m glad I did. And how about Brandon Knight? I’ve been dabbling with him in lineups because he’s having a great season, but still, 78 points? Damn son.

My blog pick Dwight Powell was completely mediocre, so mediocre he didn’t qualify for either a flame or a snowflake symbol. And I didn’t roll with Paul George or Sullinger in this lineup, but they were both also totally mediocre. Three picks, three no-symbols. I’m a glass half full type of guy so my statement on that will be, hey, I didn’t give you any duds.

Let’s hammer out some thoughts for tonight’s slate…three picks, three price tiers.

SF Giannis $7K

If you want to fit in Steph or Anthony Davis tonight you’ll have to keep the rest of your costs down, so the priciest option I’ll put up today is a nice cheap 7K…and for the Greek Freak, that’s a big time bargain. Giannis has been a little up and down this season, but everybody knows he can go off for 50 fantasy points on any given night. The minutes have been a little low lately, but with Jabari Parker out for tonight’s game, there’s a better chance he gets a solid 30-35 guaranteed, and a matchup with the Wizards is one of the best DvP spots on the board. Got to love the upside for a guy who hits every stat category.

PG Emmanuel Mudiay $6.1K

Not sure if everyone has been paying attention to Mudiay, but the rookie has been putting up some big time fantasy games. Of course, he’s young and volatile – just as likely to hit you with a 20 point night as he is to pay off with a 45 pointer. But as a tournament play, his upside combined with price is exactly what we’re looking for. And you can’t argue with the matchup – the Pelicans are getting thrashed on the defensive end, and are giving up the most FP in the league to opposing point guards (research, bitch.) With a lot of name guys going tonight I like Mudiay to try and fly in under the radar.

PG Dennis Schroeder $4.6K

Here’s your gimme play of the day. Should be very popular, but at 4.6K, Schroeder is in no-fade territory for me even if he ends up at 85% owned. He gets solid minutes and returns crazy value on a normal day off the bench, now consider he’s getting the start and has no competition with both Teague and Bazemore out, and I’ll set it and forget it.

If you do insist on fading…there’s always the chance Kyle Korver has his once-a-month light-it-up game and drops 40 fantasy points out of nowhere. Who knows, maybe Schroeder is off and the offense all goes through Korver. I mean there’s no reason you can’t play both, but I try not to have too many Hawks in my lineups.

Solid Safe Plays for Under $8K: Paul Millsap, Brook Lopez, Nicolas Batum,

Cheap Ass High Risk Tournament Plays: Kris Humphries, Thabo Sefalosha, Garret Temple, Will Barton, Jeremy Lamb

Gun To Head, Davis or Curry?

That’s it for me, good luck tonight. Tweet me @kmarkobarstool with your picks or to talk shit, whatever. Also if you’re depositing to play make sure to use my referral and we’ll both get hooked up with some stuff.
