Saints at Redskins "Win Today And Anything Is Possible" Live Blog

Good news: The Saints defense stinks.

Bad news: Drew Brees has thrown for 892 yards in his last 2 games.

Kirk Cousins isn’t going to match Brees yard for yard, and shouldn’t have to. Skins need to stick to what they’ve done all season- ball control, manage the clock, and pick defenses apart. Kirk should be able to make comfortable throws against the Saints D, while Matt Jones will look to burst open some long runs and keep the Saints D on the field and Brees on the bench.

Brees can put up all sorts of numbers, but keep in mind they are still only a 4-5 team, with losses to the Bucs and the Titans on their resume.

So look. Win today, move to 4-5. Then look at the rest of the schedule and you might be kinda shocked at what you see….

Next week is the last tough game of the season. The final 6 games, all winnable. So let’s say the Skins don’t beat the undefeated Panthers, that’s fair. They fall to 4-6. Giants and Cowboys at home, both winnable. The Bears stink. The Bills at home is winnable. Already have beaten the Eagles this year, and then we get Romo in January. For a team that has won 7 games COMBINED in the last 2 seasons, this is a very favorable last 6 weeks for the Skins. A win today vs the Saints could potentially mean something big in week 17 vs the Cowboys. That’s why today is so important. Let’s see what they can do.
