David Hasselhoff Is Saying He Has Changed His Name to Simply David Hoff
Time – Get used to calling David Hasselhoff by another name. The actor is claiming that he changed his name to David Hoff, shortening the former moniker we all know so well. However, it’s unclear how serious he is about an official name change. “I’ve been wanting to drop the Hassel from my life for years. Now, I have made it official – David Hoff,” the 63-year-old says in a straight to the point video shared on his YouTube page.
Well there you have it folks, the Hoff is now David Hoff. Very straight and to the point. I wonder what made him do this? I don’t like it one bit. He was David Hasselhoff aka the Hoff. That was his #brand and it was working out pretty well for him. Even after the whole cheeseburger episode, he was still loved by all. He’s practically Jesus over in Germany.
And now he’s going to change his name on them like that? If there’s one thing I know about Germany, it’s that they aren’t great with change or difference. This could be a devastating blow to Hoff’s career that he will not see coming.
And I have to say there’s a strong likelihood he isn’t really changing his name and that he’s just a bored old guy who is looking for publicity and Twitter followers. Time Magazine is reporting it though so who even fucking knows what to believe anymore. If it smells like fish, it’s usually fish. But the Hoff changing his last name? I hate the Internet. For now on let’s just assume everything is real instead of caring if it’s fake or not. Makes life so much easier.
