Is Buying A Ronda Rousey Fight Worth It?

I don’t know shit about UFC so this is a legitimate question blog: is a Rousey match worth the money? Because I’m all in on the Rousey hype train. I briefly touched on this in the DraftKings blog yesterday (sign up here!) but I’m kind of obsessed with her. But the problem is she wins every goddamn fight in less time than a Twitter video. Those are her last three matches and, as you can see, they all add up to be roughly a minute of fighting. 60 bucks for an Instagram video, if you’re lucky, is pretty steep

But I guess I don’t really have a choice? I’m not trying to be a poor idiot who watches the KO gif on Twitter nanoseconds after it really happens. I want to be cheering Rousey on in my Do Nothing Bitch tshirt and Tapout gloves and shit. Because Rousey is a legit superstar. You can thumb your nose at women’s fighting but you can’t deny that this chick is must-watch whenever she does anything. She’s in blockbuster movies, has a best-selling book where she admits to beating the fuck out of her boyfriend because he took nudes of her (if you can say you’re a domestic abuser and everyone is just like “This is why she’s the best!” then you’re a star), fired feminists up and was called a “Lube shamer” because she said anyone who needs lube doesn’t fuck right… she’s just awesome. And even though there’s no one on her level this fight is absolutely an event. It’s like Tyson in his prime fighting a janitor, you know how it’s going to end and you know it’s going to end fast, but you’ve gotta see it. So I guess I’m buying this fight tomorrow night. Is that dumb?
