Master P Says Him And His Buddies Beat Michael Jordan In A Pickup Game After MJ Was Mad Lil Romeo Wasn't Wearing Jordans

Complex – Master P has done it all. Not only was the No Limit CEO one of the most successful rap figures of the ’90s, he also had a brief stint in the NBA, his very own sneakers, and, yes, even a talking doll in his likeness. Now, thanks to a new interview with This Is 50, we’re learning of another notable stunt that P pulled off— confronting the G.O.A.T. Michael Jordan over a pair of sneakers. According to Master P, his son (better known as Lil’ Romeo) was attending one of Jordan’s famous basketball camps when something went awry. “[Jordan] was like, “Man, you can’t wear them P. Miller shoes in here, you need to have on Jordans,'” P said.  But instead of simply complying with M.J.’s request, Romeo put in a call to pops, who flew down to the camp the very next day. “I’m like, ‘Man, he ain’t about to take no shoes off,'” P said.  What happened next is literally the last thing you’d expect. According to Master P, he challenged Jordan and his crew to a pick-up game which saw P team up with college prospects like Gilbert Arenas and Metta World Peace (then Ron Artest) while Jordan was matched with fellow NBA players.  “They were like, ‘Yeah, we can beat these dudes.’ It was like a real street game. Then at the end we won. I turned all the way up. It was cool. Ever since then we been friends,” P said.

I think I’m gonna have to throw the challenge flag on this one, P. This might be the biggest lie in the history of sports and rap. Lets break it down:

Michael Jordan scolds a child for not wearing his sneakers – which, that part is totally believable. Lil Romeo does not comply with Michael Jordan. The most legendary, intimidating person maybe to ever live. He calls his Dad instead to fly down to the camp. Master P arrives. Challenges the greatest basketball player ever to a pick up game. Master P, Ron Artest, and Gilbert Arenas proceed to defeat Michael Jordan and the biggest NBA stars in the league, Lil Romeo continues to wear his P Millers, and MJ and P are friends.

Riiiiiiiiiiight. Not since Charlie Murphy and the gang played Prince and the Revolution has there been a more ridiculous story. I mean I love this story. Love every second of it. Its just the most ridiculous lie ever concocted. I mean I know Master P could ball, but I feel like he got real life mixed up with Space Jam. P was probably like “And then we stole MJ’s Secret Stuff!” I just wish he went fully over the top with this lie and said that he played with Silkk The Shocker and Mystikal. And Mia X was the referee. If you’re gonna concoct a story about beating MJ in pick up hoops, go all in. Now do me a favor and cue the motherfuckin music!!
