The boys are on a roll. Points in 14 of their last 15, with that one game being a loss to the Rangers, who have won 10 of 11. This red hot Caps team is dangerous. And what makes them so dangerous is the secondary scoring. It’s not relying on Ovi to win them a game, everyone is pitching in. MoJo, Fehr, Backy, and Brouwer all are putting pucks in the net. The defense is playing better than ever, especially Orpik who finally has his feet under him and is living up to that contract. And of course Holts who has been standing on his head in net. If he plays tonight that will be 23 starts in a row for the Beast, with only maybe one or two below average games in there. Only 4 teams in the East have allowed fewer goals than the Caps have..interesting enough, one of those teams is Florida who just can’t score goals themselves.
Caps team is good, dangerous, and hungry. All 4 lines get it done. They are physical, they are playing smart, and when you don’t have to rely on Ovi getting PP goals to win, good things will happen. No team stumbles into points in 14 out of 15 games. Sniff sniff, the Cup smells mighty nice.
PS: Ovi continues to give back to his fans, because that’s what he does.
