Kmarko's DraftKings Picks - September 24
Welcome back to the daily DraftKings picks where we try to get super rich playing daily fantasy baseball. As usual I’ll do a brief recap of my lineups from the night before then throw out some picks that I’m brainstorming for tonight, and hopefully get some good feedback/tips/picks from you guys either in the comment section or on Twitter @kmarkobarstool.
Had a pretty good night with my optimal lineup-
And a real good night with my Pirates stack lineup.
Unfortunately can’t run the Pirates stack back out there tonight (I HATE day games) so we’ll have to get a little more creative.
Blog picks – we got a homer baby. Justin Bour with the #BourBomb getting the blog picks back on track. Xander disappointed with only 7 points, but 1 out of 2 ain’t bad.
Love the fact that Blackmon got scratched at the last second too, how perfect was that. Blackmon was fading my picks so hard that he took himself out of the literal real life lineup.
PITCHERS
-MadBum is your ace for the night – not only has he been money lately, but he DOMINATES the Padres.
-Chris Sale is way up there in price and has been wayyyyyy shaky lately, but he’s Chris Sale…he can get you 14 Ks any night he’s out there.
-Cueto, Wacha and Pineda are all up there for me as guys to consider – all 3 are pitchers I would usually stay away from on most nights because I have bad luck with them, but with kind of a weird feeling slate tonight, I definitely have to give them a look.
-I love Matz, but 10K? That’s way overpriced.
-Wade Miley and Cosart are really the only two lower priced guys I’m thinking about, and both scare me to death.
HITTERS
OF Yoenis Cespedes $4.8K
This is more of a hopeful pick than a research pick to be honest, but hey these are tournament picks, so maybe that’s a good sign? Basically the Mets are scaring the shit out of Mets fans right now by hitting a cold streak at a horrible time, and haven’t been crushing the shitty pitchers they are supposed to crush. Going to hope that tonight is the night they turn it around, with Cespedes right in the middle of it. Would love for him to crank a home run his first at bat to set the tone, but if not I’d be fine with a double, triple and 3 or 4 RBI.
3B Matt Carpenter $4.7K
Swear to God I made this pick before I knew Carpenter hit 2 bombs last night. Now I just look like a sucker chasing points. Oh well, whatever, I like him tonight so deal with it. Obviously broke out of his slump in a big way and has a great matchup, and frankly a lot of the infield positions are pretty puke worthy tonight.
VALUE PLAY OF Brandon Guyer $2.9K
I actually don’t mind Wade Miley tonight strictly off a hunch, but on paper the Rays destroy lefties and you gotta think they at least do a little damage tonight. Unfortunately for me Forsythe and Longoria are on my shit list of unplayables, so can’t go them. Mike Mahtook has been great, but I think I’m going with someone a little sneakier – Brandon Guyer, who hits leadoff and has been basically on fire lately but never gets mentioned. Hoping he can chip in with 10-15 points as a value play and allow me to load up on some better arms.
