See Ya Bitch: Kings' Slava Voynov Is Headed Back To Russia

LA Kings – On July 2, Slava Voynov entered a plea of no contest to domestic violence. Since that development, Mr. Voynov has been in the custody of the Seal Beach Detention Center and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. During this period of detention, the Los Angeles Kings decided he would no longer play for the team. The method by which we would ensure this outcome was something we carefully considered and we established a deadline of September 17 – the beginning of our 2015-16 training camp – to reach this outcome. Recently it became evident to us that our conclusion to this process would be to terminate Mr. Voynov’s Standard Player’s Contract. However, Mr. Voynov’s announcement today of his intention to leave the United States and return to Russia makes the termination unnecessary.

First and foremost, good riddance. I said this a couple weeks ago and we’ll say it again; Slava Voynov is a scumbag Russian and he has no right of staying in this country anymore. Go back to Russia and have fun playing in the KHL with the likes of Alex Radulov and Ilya Kovalchuk and all the other Russians who basically just stole a paycheck from NHL clubs and then ran back off to the motherland. But boy did the Los Angeles Kings really luck out on this one.

Despite his shitty character, the fact is that Slava Voynov is pretty damn good defenseman. And with Voynov voluntarily choosing to go back to Russia, that means that the Kings can now just suspend him while still retaining his NHL rights instead of terminating the contract a la Mike Richards. I really don’t think that Slava Voynov will ever play again for the Los Angeles Kings. And I don’t really think we’ll ever see him again in the NHL. But this is pretty interesting to keep in mind.

So the possibility is always still there for Voynov to return, in which case the Kings would have his rights and could package him in a trade. Which is pretty much best case scenario for the Kings because I’m sure terminating that contract straight up would have killed them since they’re a bunch of rat bastards themselves (still salty over the way they handled Richards). Either way, Voynov is on his way out and that should conclude one helluva summer for the Los Angeles Kings.

Jarrett Stoll – Busted for coke. Has turned Erin Andrews into that chick. Now headed to Broadway.

Mike Richards – Busted for percs. Sucked ass all last year. Contract terminated.

Slava Voynov – Everything above, plus he probably jerks it to Putin.

Drew Doughty – still really good. Still pretty fat.
