Great win. Great great win for Kirk Ferentz and the Hawkeyes. I was really sick and tired of losing to the Cyclones and I didn’t need another loss to them hanging over yet another Iowa football season. It feels good to take the CyHawk trophy back to Iowa City. CJ Beathard played great. He might be the real deal and that’s exciting. Three passing touchdowns. 77 yards with his feet. He threw some perfect passes and ran around the field like Michael Vick. Not to pile on Jake Rudock but Beathard made some plays today that would’ve been unfathomable last year with Rudock as the starter. Defense played great in the second half despite losing Drew Ott early in the game. This win feels especially good after the tough week around here. First the tragic passing of former Iowa standout Tyler Sash (the #9’s looked awesome on the helmets by the way) and then the passing of Iowa basketball great Roy Marble. You could see Coach Ferentz getting a little emotional as time expired. Rough rough week for Hawkeye Nation but it feels good to take down the Cyclones. 2-0. Let’s keep this train rolling.
Now let’s celebrate and drink and not get in any trouble whatsoever.
Play the damn song!
