Jake Voracek Donating $1,000 Toward Fighting MS For Every Point He Scores This Season
CBS Sports – Voracek recently started the Jakub Voracek Foundation in the Czech Republic that will help patients with Multiple Sclerosis, a disease of the central nervous system that has no cure and impacts more than two million people around the world, including Voracek’s older sister, Petra.
As part of his new foundation, Voracek will donate $1,000 for every point he scores this season to help fight MS in the Czech Republic.
Jake Voracek has just entered his prime and is quickly becoming one of the top players in the NHL. His 81 points (22 g, 59 a) last season were top 5 in the league and he spent a decent amount of the season at #1. Voracek and Giroux together are two of the best scoring tandems around and as long as the Flyers can find someone to play on that left wing for longer than a couple weeks at a time, there’s no reason why Voracek can’t eclipse that career-high 81 points mark this season. Especially now after this little incentive.
Voracek just got a nice little payday a month or so ago so he can afford to score 100 points this season. He can afford to score 200 points this season. So here’s to hoping that Voracek goes out there and breaks the Great One’s record of 215 points next year. It’s for a great cause and every time a goalie stops one of Voracek’s shots, I guess that automatically makes them Pro-MS, no? (Looking at you, Holtby) But seriously, this is a pretty awesome move from Jachobe and I’m sure regardless of what his point total ends at this year that he’ll tack on a few more bills to the end of it. It’s impossible to not love this guy.
P.s. – Only 28 more days until the NHL season starts. Allow the most fashion-forward player in the league get you hype.
