'Play Well, They Change The Narrative' - Baker Mayfield Knows Exactly Why People Now Call Him A 'Dog' And Has 'Moxie' For His Constant Shit Talking

Uhh, yeah, no shit. It's the simplest answer but very rarely do we have people like Baker bring it up directly. If you win, the narrative around you changes. It's true, I don't know of anyone currently in the NFL that has changed their narrative more than Baker. He went from this bust in Cleveland and guy who had no right to run his mouth ever to now constantly being praised for shit talking when he wants to. He's always been this guy, do we forget the Oklahoma Baker Mayfield? This is no different than that, similar that he's on a good team again. This answer comes from this interaction this past weekend:

First of all, everyone was talking about how beautiful the jersey matchup was, including the Seahawks and Bucs themselves. Here's an idea - just wear them normally. If you have 2 of the best jerseys in the sport, break them out always and forever. Look at this!

Gross dude. I just had to get that out of the way. Back to Baker now.

Everyone who doesn't like Baker is basically waiting for that moment he struggles or loses in the playoffs to bring up how running his mouth actually makes him an asshole. Everyone who likes Baker will defend him as a dog or has moxie. It's how sports works and just a matter of who we're talking about here. I think this version of Baker works because he knows who he is, has a ton of talent around him and isn't afraid to piss people off. It's also not the Browns media and fans talking about him, who only know sadness. That's really the number 1 difference here.

I respect an answer like this though. Give me a guy who knows how everything revolves around winning. Narratives, legacies, whatever you want, it doesn't matter as long as you win.
