The Foo Fighters Are Having a 20th Anniversary Concert At RFK Stadium on July 4th
Pitchfork - This year marks the Foo Fighters’ 20th anniversary. Today, the band have announced that they will be celebrating the occasion with a Fourth of July blowout at Washington, DC’s RFK Stadium. In addition to Dave Grohl and company, the day will feature sets from Buddy Guy, Gary Clark Jr., Heart, Joan Jett, LL Cool J, Trouble Funk, and Trombone Shorty. To commemorate Independence Day, the band (whose new album Sonic Highways arrives next week) will hold a bunch of seasonal activities as well, including a motorcyle rally, a barbecue and, of course, fireworks.
Hey that’s cool. Really cool. 20th anniversary blow out extravaganza for one of the best rock n roll bands of our time, right here in Washington DC. Just Grohl and his buddies rocking out to celebrate turning 20 years old and America turning 2015 years old. Wouldn’t have it any other way. I’ve seen the Foo Fighters only once and they, as you would guess, put on a great show. Hit after hit after hit, Grohl screaming his face off the entire time. It’s a miracle he still has a voice.
PS: Hopefully this show will be a big hit and then they’ll bring back HFS and the HFStival and all will be right in the world again.
