It's Official: Jameis Winston Is Now QB1 For The Cleveland Browns

Well, I'm torn on this one by the Browns. On one hand, we just went from the most unlikeable quarterback in....NFL History?....being the one under center, to perhaps the most likable player in the league. People are going to go from checking in on the Browns scores, hoping they're getting demolished, to watching the Browns drives, hoping they score. I mean, you might think it's hyperbolic to say the 1-6 Browns have become must watch television this Sunday, and you'd probably be right. But do you know what isn't hyperbolic to say about the Browns and "Must Watch"? The pregame speech Jameis is about to get before playing the Rat Birds in Cleveland this week.

This dude had the entire world on their hands and knees begging for more during the preseason in Cleveland, but they failed to remember (actually, they probably remembered) that Jamies shines brightest when the lights are on. I hope he brings out the Eat A W. But then again, Jameis is such a National Treasure that my guess is he'd never repeat a speech.

I'm not sure when the right time to put this in my blog is, so I'm just going to wedge it in here. This quote from Browns running back Jerome Ford makes me laugh every single time:

And we all know exactly what he means by this. The way Jameis talks, he can make anything sound like he's super excited to share it. Even with Deshaun Watson going down with a horrible season ending injury on Sunday, Jameis chastised the fans (and was 100% correct in everything he said) in a way that made it sound like he was preaching to the choir. He is the most electric man in show business.

WITH THAT BEING SAID: are the Browns going to fuck around and ruin everything by winning some games?

This season is OVER. It doesn't matter if we added Tom Brady in his prime right now, a 1-6 team doesn't make the playoffs. And the worst thing we can do is scrap and claw our way back into relevancy….but also irrelevancy…by finishing 6 and 11. No, there are currently four teams in the NFL with only one win, and I want to finish the season dead last. Give US the option of who to take #1 overall in next year's draft. Don't take the scraps that the Pats, Panthers, and/or Titans leave behind. And unfortunately, we just lost our best weapon at tanking in Deshaun Watson. Whether we were trying to or not, he was putting on a masterclass in being awful this season. 1-16 was certainly within reach. But now? Jameis Winston taking over the team might catapult us both talent and morale wise to a 5-12 season. Fuck!
