Let's All Rally Together This Monday Morning And Hate This Woman Who Made a GoFundMe To Pay For Her $362 Halloween Uber Ride
Business Insider - Last night was Halloween. Great time. Today is my 26th birthday. Not so great time. I live in Baltimore and went out with my friends to celebrate my birthday at midnight. When 3 AM rolled around, I suggested we take an Uber hole to avoid drunk driving (#responsibility/#MADD). I live 22 minutes , tops, from the party I was leaving. When I awoke this morning, I heard a friend talking about how outrageous Uber rates were the night before (9x original rate). I checked my bank account to, unbeknownst to me, I see a charge for $362. Not only is it my 26th birthday, it is rent day. My rent is $450 and I can no longer pay it today due to this completely outrageous charge. I have had little to no luck in disputing this transaction. I waitress at two restaurants and freelance for a City Paper. I worked incredibly hard this week to be able to enjoy my birthday this weekend. This misunderstanding has cost me 80% of the funds I have to my name (embarrassingly so) and I spent a good two hours of my birthday crying over it. I feel taken advantage of and cheated by the Uber name. $367 for a 20 minute ride should never be justified, even on Halloween. Please donate even just $1 if you think this is utter and complete bullshit and also hilarious and very, very depressing at the same time. Thanks for the ride, Muhammed.
FUCK YOU WOMAN, FUCK YOU! Join me, my friends, in hating her. FUCK YOU! How fucking entitled is this broad? Wahhhhhh, I agreed to pay a price for a service and then was unhappy with the price afterwards, wahhhhhhh. Kick rocks bitch. This is a ridiculous thing to complain about. We all buy shit at 3am that we aren’t proud of. We all get blacked out at bars and run our tabs up to amounts so high we rethink our life for the next week. But you know what? 99% of us understand that’s the nature of the beast.
When you get fucked up, fucked up shit happens. You don’t run to the internet and claim you can’t pay your rent. If you can’t control your life to the point where you can’t pay your rent because you got too drunk, you’re a complete asshole. Wahhhhh, I’m a waitress at two restaurants. Then figure it out. You don’t see me raising money for the time I drank 100 miller lites and lost 60% of my net worth in AC. You don’t see Smitty starting GoFundMes because he blew 120k. Yes, I agree, $367 is a bit of a price to pay for an Uber. But that’s life. That’s the cost of drinking. And how about how she titled the thing “Uber stole my birthday”? It fucking tells you right off the bat about the surge pricing. She just was too fucking white girl wasted to pay attention, which is probably why she is poor to begin with. And let’s face it, if you can’t afford to blow $367 on an Uber, you shouldn’t be going out at all. And that’s a fact.
PS: “Thanks for the ride, Muhammed.” Kinda sneaky funny racism at the end there.
