McNeese St Just Beat Texas A&M Corpus Christi In An Insane Ending

It sure takes a lot to grab attention in College Basketball on a Monday night with two teams from The Southland Conference, but oh boy did McNeese State (and Texas A&M Corpus Christi) just have a hell of a moment.

Let's start by saying at one point McNeese State, and personal friend Head Coach Will Wade, was down 18 points in the 2nd half, and that's not even the craziest part of the night. Nowhere close.

The real lunacy starts with 7.7 seconds left when Texas A&M Corpus Christi heads to the line up 1. The Islanders would make the first and miss the second putting TAMCC up 2. If you are an Islander fan, ok no problem, just play defense and try to hold on for a win. Except ... TAMCC's Jordan Roberts commits a foul because he likely thought they were up 3 not 2, sending McNeese State's Mike Saunders Jr to the line.

Absolute brain fart. Just can't have it.

TAMCC then gets bailed out AGAIN as Saunders makes the first, but misses the second, and after an absolutely wild sequence ... McNeese State's Christian Shumate hits a layup just before the buzzer sounds.

I cannot put into words just how perfectly college basketball this game was. Missed FT's. Insane TO's. Moronic plays, and a wild wild wild wild wild ending. This sport is the best. Find me someone who hates College Basketball and I'll show you how a game from the Southland can be must watch television on ESPNU on a Monday night.

Just the damn best. Every night is a war, every night is chaos. Shoutout Will Wade ... Mcneese State is going to be a team to watch in the tournament if they can win this conference.

PS- I laid McNeese St -4.5 so not everyone benefitted from such an entertaining ending, some of us just wanted overtime.
