Josh Harris Has Hired Former Golden State Warriors GM Bob Myers To Help Him Find His Next Head Of Football Operations And Head Coach
Well this is something! Josh Harris has hired 2 fellas- one being Bob Myers, to help him find the next GM/head of football operations and the next head coach. Bob Myers, of course, is known for building the Golden State Warriors teams and winning 4 titles with them, as well as 2 NBA Executive of the Year awards.
Sure Bob is an NBA guy, but Josh Harris figures if you can figure out the NBA with numbers and algorithms and analytics, you can do the same in the NFL. He also hired former Vikings GM Rick Spielman to assist him, which makes sense to get an NFL brain in on the conversations. Together they are tasked with finding the next head of football and next head coach, no pressure or anything.
Will this work? Who knows! But at least they are trying something, spending money on it, and hiring someone who has proved time and time again to be successful at doing this. Would be funny if Spielman names himself the new GM, but alas, I like the overall idea of these hirings. This should be Bob with our next QB in 2-3 years:
Ron is out, and I expect many more heads to roll after him. I think everyone Snyder hired will be fired as well, including team president Jason Wright. The post-Dan Snyder era now officially feels different. Josh Harris waited all year to do this- I guess it makes sense why he was just sipping drinks up in his booth, he was waiting it out to drop the nuke. Onwards and upwards we go.
