I Hosted The Wildest Twitter Spaces Of All-Time Last Night, Featuring Big Cat, Jersey Jerry, And Rico Bosco
Yesterday was one of one. I did not see this coming. I wrote what turned out to be an incredibly controversial blog about the Detroit Pistons. I went back and forth with people on social media about it. I did a live stream; I did a Twitter spaces. I let people state their pieces. No hard feelings, dog. I did my job, and people on Twitter responded. You’re not always going to make friends. That’s OK. Nothing but love this holiday season.
There is a randomness to this company that I will always love. I did not expect my Monday night to be spent on Twitter Spaces with Jersey Jerry playing the role of Mickey to my Rocky and Big Cat, Ryen Russillo, and Rico Bosco all making appearances. Unlike some other instances, I won’t back down from my opinion. I’m not that huge of an NBA guy. The Pistons have been terrible for well over half my life at this point. It wouldn’t impact me that much if they moved, but I also acknowledge it would impact a lot of other people. Tempers flared, and I went into rage mode.
There isn't a greater group of wrong people than those who accuse me of being arrogant. I'm the least confident person I know. I enjoy being right, but anybody who knows me knows that I could probably afford a little bit more arrogance in my life. I care way too much about what other people think of me, which isn't a great idea when you work at this company, but I'm still learning on the job. This may be the moment the Phoenix rises from the ashes. Perhaps I'll stop pulling my punches now, or maybe I'll just hit the gym, write a few blogs, listen to a few old "Opie And Anthony" clips and then call it a day. I sure as hell didn't know what yesterday had in store. So, I won't make any predictions about today or tomorrow.
At the end of the day, Dave hired one guy to be the Michigan guy at Barstool. And for quite a while there, I fucked around. It's hard to write a Lions blog when you're pouring poison into your body. I'll never be able to give the fans that time back, but I can do all I can to make up for it. Whether you agree with me or not, this is a responsibility that I will never take lightly. Detroit fans are, without a doubt, some of the best and most passionate that there are. You are all a huge reason I got here in the first place. An audience that hates you is still better than no audience at all. I'll win ya back!
