TWITTER FIGHT! CJ Gardner-Johnson Says Deebo Samuel Ran Away From The 49ers vs. Browns Pregame Scuffle Until Trent Williams Stepped In
Okay, so unless you live under a rock, you've already seen what happened during the pre-game of the 49ers vs. Browns. I would say I wish we saw a little more fight from the 49ers DURING the game, but the Browns handing San Francisco their first regular season loss since October 2022 is not the point of this blog. The point of this blog is to discuss Deebo Samuel's actions during the "fight", which have come under scrutiny in the last few hours. Take another watch for yourself and make your own determination before moving forward.
Okay, here is CJ Gardner-Johnson's take:
Now, you may be thinking, why is a Lions safety who has been out since Week 2 with an injury chirping Deebo Samuel 7 hours after the fact? And about 5 hours after Deebo got injured? I do not know the answer to that question. I have searched far and wide to see if these two had any previous encounters, but I cannot find any. So I will judge this solely based on the video: CJ is right. Deebo throws the first headbutt and then backpedals faster than a speeding bullet to get away from the action. And it's not until big Trent Williams comes into the fray (cheap shot) that Deebo jumps back in.
Those are the facts. The film does not lie. That is what happened, Deebo hit and ran like he was in a fender bender driving without his license. And when he saw he was outnumbered, he sped off.
Don't poke the bear if you don't want to wake it up. Anyways, Deebo's response:
Eh, I get what he's saying, but does he think CJ looks bad here? My eyes say that CJ eats the initial punch and is like, what the fuck? And the receiver keeps swinging, trying to knock him down. I think CJ actually shows some toughness in that clip, but I get Deebo is saying he'll smack him if he keeps this up.
Regardless, CJ's rebuttal:
CJ's double down:
We will now wait until Deebo wakes up out there on the West Coast for his response, but I think the score is CJ 2, Deebo 0. And while I hope Deebo comes back with something hot, I don't see how this one is going to be settled online. We either need a Rough and Rowdy matchup between these two, or we need a Lions vs. 49ers NFC Championship game. The only problem is both of these two are tweeting injured from their couch and literally cannot play, let alone fight.
