After Some Careful Deliberation I Think I Want To Talk About The Recently Released MLB Playoff Schedule
I’ve gone back and forth on this, whether I should be talking about the MLB postseason schedule that was announced late yesterday afternoon. On one hand the Cubs are 4 games up in mid August, playing fantastic baseball in MLB’s most difficult Division. On the other, well, you know that story, we’re still the Cubs. But I’ve decided that these Cubs are different, time to act like we belong, time to throw out “jinxes” and “curses” and being a coward. Time to start making plans for October, yeah you read that right, October baseball in Chicago, I can hardly believe it myself. So here we go.
NL Wild Card Game – Wednesday October 7th
This is also Blackhawks banner night at home against the Rangers. Will Patrick Kane be playing? Will it be weird seeing all the new faces on the Hawks roster and no Saad or Sharp? Does any of this matter? The answer is no, I’ll see everyone at Sluggers around 3 pm that afternoon, gonna get into the game by 6 so I can get 3 Hot Doug’s before the lines get crazy, yeah it will be a home game, coming for that ass Pittsburgh.
NLDS Game 5 – October 15th
I’m realistic here, I know the Cubs won’t sweep the Cardinals in the second round, gonna be a tough series, going to be a knock down drag out fight. That’s why I’m happy this game will be on a Thursday so when we party after the Game 5 victory it’s almost the weekend.
NLCS Game 7 – October 25th
HUGE shoutout to the schedule makers on this one. Week 7 of the NFL Season and the undefeated Chicago Bears have a bye. Nice knowing we can all relax and ease our way into the Cubs first World Series berth since 1945, yes it has been 70 years.
World Series Game 4 – October 31st
Let’s be honest, the AL sucks, so when the Cubs get to the World Series a sweep is most likely going to happen. Game 4, Wrigley Field, Saturday night, Halloween, full moon, Cubs World Series. Did you just get chills? Because I sure as fuck did.
Now everyone do me a favor and pretend this blog was never written, thanks.
