The Yak and Rundown Had Thoughts About My "Unboxing" Disaster - Here Is The True Story Behind The Video

I posted this video on Friday night of me completely screwing up opening a Pelicans bobblehead in every possible way at the Cavs/Pels game. I am not sure this was what the Pelicans hoped for when they gave away these bobbleheads of Pierre the mascot.

It started out innocently enough when I tried to open the box and within 5 seconds all hell broke loose. I had no idea it was going to be that complicated. The styrofoam just started crumbling and going everywhere. It was an utter disaster but I was being filmed and had to forge ahead for better or for worse.

The worst but possibly best part was the styrofoam started fluttering in the air and got all over this poor soul who was sitting beside me.

Don't worry, I apologized to him and he was WAY cooler about it than he should have been. I guess New Orleans people have a higher tolerance for absurdity than most?

I don't know how but I lost control of the situation and basically mangled the bobblehead. Poor Pierre never stood a chance.

And the usher did not look too happy about the situation to put it mildly.

Everything that could possibly go wrong went wrong in what seems like an unbelievably simple situation.

How the hell I got myself in that situation I have no idea. But I more than owe that poor man a meal or a beer. I just had to get the bobblehead open.

I have learned one thing in my couple years at Barstool. A lot of my best content comes from screwing up. I NEVER mean to do it but screwing up brings A LOT of clicks.

I had no idea this would go viral to the point of over 2 MILLION views! It is my 2nd biggest video ever behind the time I went after the Vandy Whistler.

Today, both Barstool Yak and Barstool Rundown had some thoughts on the video.

Nick Turani texted me that he watched it 10,000 times and laughed harder every time. Thanks I guess?

I am the farthest thing from a great comedian but it is apparently quite funny to watch me make an idiot of myself in public. And I am good at that part even if it is unintentional.

The joke is on me for sure but as long as people keep clicking and laughing I am more than happy to deal with that first world problem.
