Joe Burrow Is So Locked In On Crushing The Bills That He Pulled Up To His Press Conference In The Wrong Jersey

Joe Burrow can't be bothered about trivial, appearance-based things like practice jerseys and proper attire while he's in the heat of preparation for the AFC Divisional Round. We all know he's already got a sick fit planned for game day. Anything else he's rocking throughout the week is of little consequence.

Nevertheless, this was hilarious. Joe Brrr has been a little colder, more calculated and focused this year during his press conferences than his two prior seasons. Some of the candor and personality has dissipated. Frankly, I don't blame him. Joey B is all about ball, all the time when the season's going. And he'll still toss in a couple zinger quotes every now and then to keep us plebs fed enough.

Wearing the wrong jersey to Wednesday's presser just shows Joe Burrow is human like all of us, but I'm beyond encouraged about this. Said presser was the furthest thing from his mind. As it should be. Little needs to be said. This man is on a mission to deny the larger football public and media their desired Bills-Chiefs AFC championship clash. Umm...yeah the Bengals are the reigning conference champs, y'all. They're one win away from returning to that deep phase of the playoffs to defend their title. STILL, Buffalo is a healthy five-point favorite for Sunday's showdown.

Kind of a bummer that the unprecedented Damar Hamlin situation didn't lead to a neutral-site game between these teams. Oh well. You know this Bengals team loves being counted out and doubted. Joe Burrow has thrived off that his whole life and is so past the point of giving two fucks about any of that. The numbers don't lie.

One thing I do know is that in a game of inches, we have one team who had 18 turnovers during the regular season, and another who had 27. We have one alleged superior quarterback in Josh Allen who committed an NFL-high 29 turnover-worthy plays compared to Joe Shiesty's 16. Cincinnati is 8-1 ATS as a road underdog and a league-best 26-12 ATS overall dating back to last season.

Realize this, too: Only three times over the past two years have the Bills faced an eventual playoff team from that season at home. They lost to the Patriots 14-10 in that crazy inclement weather game. Throw that out. They have New England's number. This year, it was the Vikings in Week 10 (33-30 OT loss), and the Dolphins in Week 15, where they were lucky to escape with a 32-29 win.

In other words, it's been a relative cakewalk schedule-wise for Buffalo at home of late, or, well, since 2021. They are 8-8-2 ATS in their own stadium during that span.

So if you want to view his mistaken Brandon Allen jersey wearing as some obscure sign that he's slipping, well, history and a not-negligible amount of data says you're gonna be proven wrong. BUT GO AHEAD. We're used to it. Talk your shit and doubt.
