Once This Iced-Out Kirk Cousins Jr. Was Spotted, There Should've Been No Doubt The Vikings Would Beat The Jets
I know it was only a one-possession game at the time when the CBS telecast cut over to this absolute G rocking all these chains, but don't we know better by now? Everyone talks about how overrated the now 10-2 Minnesota Vikings are. I'm sorry. There is nothing overrated about winning that many games in the NFL. Kirk Cousins isn't even playing the best football of his career. Far from it. Every advanced metric you look at regarding the Vikings defense is unimpressive.
And yet...Iced-Out Kirk Cousins prevails.
There are dubious role models in the world. Captain Kirk is a bit of a nerdy weirdo and I wouldn't rally around him or follow him into battle the way I would with many, many other quarterbacks. But like, this dude deserves some sort of credit. And apparently, at least some kids out there aspire to be like Cousins.
There isn't much more to be said about this whole situation. All I know is, as someone who picked the Vikings to cover three points, I was not sweating even a little bit when Mike White had the Jets in position for a game-winning TD down the stretch. There's a certain mystique about Kirk Cousins, the chains, and this young lad that made me believe there was a zero percent chance the Vikings weren't going to find a way to win YET ANOTHER one-possession game. Nine of their 10 wins have been by eight points or less. Unreal.
