The Phillies Fired Joe Girardi And Have Been Playing Straight Up Miracle Ball Since

I mean...what just happened doesn't happen. Not to a team in the midst of a 11+ year playoff drought. Not to a franchise that has only 39 winning seasons in 140 years (still not sure how that's possible). Not to the Philadelphia Phillies.

This is a team that was dead, down, and dickless heading into the late innings vs. one of the best bullpens in the game. A squad that couldn't muster a run home with a man on 3rd with less than 2 outs MULTIPLE times in the ballgame, once with the bases loaded. This isn't a franchise capable of resurrecting Alec Bohm from beyond the grave to tie the game only to have Matt Vierling hit one out to give them the lead in the top of the 9th. It doesn't happen. Shit, Bohm was close to being traded/released earlier this season and Vierling was sent down to the minors even after all the high hopes and Safelite advertisements he could dream of coming into Opening Day as the starting CF. It just doesn't happen.

But it did. And that's after another MIRACLE game which featured a Bryce grand salami to tie it late in the contest and a Bryson Stott 3-run dinger to win it on a 3-2 count with 2 outs in the bottom of the night. It all happened. Why? There's only one man who knows the truth...

Rob. Thomson.

Who would've thought. That's now 5 in a row for The Fightins and 4-0 under the new skip. I’m not saying Rob Thomson is an all powerful witch…but whatever it takes, dude. Whatever it takes.

The Summer is actually meaningful again. Now Ring The Damn Bell. RING IT.
