Folks, It's Time We Recognize That Manny Machado Is The Best Player In The National League

Sit down, let's have a conversation real quick. It's about time you admit that Manny Machado is the best player in the National League. I know, there's a ton of other good players out there, Fernando Tatis Jr. who is hurt, Ronald Acuña Jr, Juan Soto, Nolan Arenado, Bryce Harper, and Freddie Freeman are in the NL, but right meow they don't hold a candle to Machado. Look at the tweet above, he leads MLB in all of those categories. Throw in 7 homers, 22 RBI, 6 stolen bases, 17 walks and 24 Ks, an OBP of .460, .625 slugging %, and a 1.085 OPS. He's either the top guy or right near the top at every offensive category. He's a monster. Of course he still gets trashed by people who live in 2015 and think he's a crybaby. Back then he was, I saw it first hand. It's been great to see him mature into the no-doubt leader of the Padres and has helped keep them afloat while they wait for Tatis Jr. to come back. Old Manny wouldn't have done that. He got clowned for going to SD and all they've done since he got there was play damn good baseball. Throw in the fact that he's still arguably the best defensive third baseman in baseball and you can't deny the fact that he's  the front runner for NL MVP.

There really isn't a race right now for NL MVP, it's Manny and everyone else. And don't say Arenado because Machado has better stats, his team is playing better, and Manny is in a tougher division. It's Manny hands down right now. He's closing in on 1,500 hits for his career as well, he's going to put up close to 3,000 hits in his career if he stays healthy, something he's done since 2015. That's another thing, he just doesn't get hurt anymore. He plays in every single game. Since his two major knee injuries in 2013 and 2015 he's played in the second most games in the bigs. He's a machine. NowH he's hitting at a higher rate than we've seen before from him, the power has always been there, the glove too, but now that he's hitting better than he ever has, that is dangerous. If the Padres can keep pace with the Dodgers it will be because of Manny, he deserves a ton of credit for the Padres being upright this season, Eric Hosmer too.

He's turned from a tall lanky doubles hitter into a beefed up monster at third base who hits mid-30s homers, he's like a created player in The Show. It's about time he started getting his recognition for the talent he has. Love him or hate him, you have to admit he's a monster. 21-game on base streak and he's playing the best out of anyone in the NL. Face it folks, Manny is the leader in the clubhouse for MVP.
