LOL Connor McDavid Skated Through The Entire Kings Defense To Score The Oilers' 1st Playoff Goal of 2022

I'm so tired of the Edmonton Oilers fucking things up and finding ways to not treat us to the likes of Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl in the Stanley Cup playoffs often enough. And GUESS WHAT?!?! It looked like we were RIGHT ON SCHEDULE for more disappointment in 2022, as the Oilers dug themselves a 2-0 hole against the Los Angeles Kings in Monday's Game 1.

Then McDavid decided he'd had enough with this nonsense and prevented Edmonton from going scoreless at home in the opening period of the postseason with an absolutely majestic jaunt down the ice between the entire Kings defense.

It is seriously a crime that the McDavid-Draisaitl superstar duo who's traded the MVP award back and forth over the past two seasons has made it out of the first round of the playoffs once since they started joining forces during the 2015-16 campaign. With how dynamic the pairing is offensively, I find it hard to comprehend how the Oilers can't get their shit together and play even competent-enough defense to complement them.

Not to take anything away from the resurgence the Kings have enjoyed this season, but I'd just like for once to see McDavid, Draisaitl and Edmonton accomplish something. These guys are too talented to be sent packing for the offseason as early as they are on an annual basis. Maybe that means McDavid and Draisaitl become more two-way players, but if they were truly atrocious on the other end of the rink, they wouldn't be winning MVPs.

As you can see in tonight's goal, McDavid transitions from his own end to FULL ATTACK MODE at a dizzying rate. He and Draisaitl put up 123 and 110 points respectively this season. I NEED MORE OILERS PLAYOFF HOCKEY IN MY LIFE. It's good for the growth of the game, especially here in the States!! Jay Woodcroft and staff, please figure it out!

Good news for the Oilers at least: They picked themselves up after losing 13 of 15 through December and January and played well down the stretch to gain some positive momentum entering the postseason. Unfortunately, Edmonton came out flat Monday night. Hockey purists are praying they rebound in swift fashion.
