The Braves Add Kenley Jansen to What Will Be the Best Bullpen in the Big Leagues

Boom! I definitely can't say I saw this move coming, but if the Dodgers want to take Freddie Freeman, we'll go ahead and take Kenley Jansen.

My first thought when I saw this announcement was, "Holy hell, that's a ton of money," but my second thought was that this Braves bullpen is going to be certifiably disgusting. Will Smith, Tyler Matzek, Luke Jackson, AJ Minter, Collin McHugh, Kirby Yates and now Jansen. Good luck.

As for the $16 million, I think any rumors of the Braves cheaping out on Freeman can be put to rest now. Since trading for and locking up Matt Olson, they've re-signed Eddie Rosario and added McHugh and Jansen to the bullpen. Liberty Media is allowing Alex Anthopoulos to spend some money. And if Jansen isn't great, he's gone after this season.

I love the way Anthopoulos keeps everything quiet, too. After 10 p.m. on a Friday night and the Braves just casually tweet that Kenley Jansen will be coming out of the bullpen this season. We love to see it.
