College Basketball Continues To Be Off The Goddamn Rails And That's The Way It Should Be
Hell yeah. Some may say this is A+ bid collusion by Auburn, making sure that Florida gets in and the conference gets more money. I say this is college basketball at its finest. I keep preaching it, but this season is truly off the goddamn rails. It's awesome. Every Saturday it feels like I'm writing a blog about a top-5 or a couple top-10 teams losing. Once again it happened. Now it wasn't some drastic upset, Florida was catching 4.5. But a team who many argue are the best in the country and locked into a No. 1 seed, just lost again on the road. That's the weird thing with Auburn. They haven't looked right while away from home. Again, that's how college basketball is. But they've lost at Florida and Arkansas. Snuck out wins at Georgia and Missouri. This time it caught them.
Hell of a final possession by Florida, who almost blew the game. Perfect hedge and show. That's how you defend a team like Auburn and force them into chaos so they don't even get the shot off. But this Saturday is trending to being an unbelievable day. It's not even 4:30 and we've had a top-2 team lose. We have Iowa beating Ohio State on the road. Kentucky won down the starting backcourt. Illinois/Michigan State was awesome. UConn beat Xavier. Texas Tech overtook the entire city of Austin. Everything is just blowing up and that's what makes this sport awesome.
This was huge for Florida. It should keep them on the right side of the bubble. They still have games left to really seal it, but this goes a long way. All I know is this sport keeps delivering. Next month is going to be mayhem and I can't fucking wait.
