Scenes From A Chaotic Day At MetLife Stadium

Today was an all-time memorable day for several reasons. It started off great. With the Bucs coming to my home state to play, I had to show up and say what's up to my buddies.

And while it was fun catching up with everyone, it wasn't fun watching the team sleepwalk through the first half. Part of the reason could be two of our teams starting Cornerbacks came off the COVID list this morning and had to fly up separately from the team. Turns it their pilot tested positive for COVID, so they had a delay, then ran into some weather issues and were re-routed up to Canada. The two CBs (Jamel Dean and Sean Murphy-Bunting) both missed the start of the game and the first series by the Jets (which was a touchdown). While they eventually rejoined the squad, things got worse. The Bucs went into half trailing 17-10 and eventually fell behind 24-10 in the 3rd Quarter. That's when things really got nutty. Antonio Brown who apparently was benched shortly before this, just quit.

Everyone was calling for a statement, but I was pretty locked in on the game. Also, I had no facts! I was reaching out to my contacts for info, but the reality was, everyone was scrambling try to find out what actually happened. A good portion of the team didn't fully realize until after the game. I did issue this statement after the game.

All the while, we were in a GD dogfight with Gang Green! That's where I'll pick this up. We were down 24-10 and had just converted a miraculous 3rd & 20. We drove down the field and my brother feeling extra love today, Cam Brate, scored a touchdown to cut the lead in half.

After controlling the field position and kicking a field goal, the lead was down to four. The Jets drove it down the field, but came up two yards short after failing on a QB sneak on 4th & 2. Tom Brady had the ball with no timeouts from his own 7 yard line and just over 2 minutes to go. It was winning time.

Afterwards, all the talk will be about Antonio Brown and I get it, it's an enormous story. But I'll always remember today for Tom Brady, Gronk having an outstanding game, and winning time. This team is incredible and we're going for two! Go Bucs!
