Ole Miss Hammers Louisville and Matt Corral Is A Heisman Contender

Ole Miss demolished Louisville 43-24 to open the 2021 season Monday night. The Rebels defense pitched a shutout in the 1st half as Rebels led 26-0.

I gave out Ole Miss QB Matt Corral at +2000 to win the Heisman on the Barstool Sportsbook yesterday afternoon. He certainly looked the part on opening night throwing for 381 yards and a TD. He also rushed for 55 yards and a TD. I predict his odds go down to 15 or 12/1 tomorrow.

WR Dontario Drummond did an admirable job filling Elijah Moore’s shoes with 9 catches for 177 yards and a TD. He made a spectacular catch down the sideline before the half.

LB Chance Campbell (Maryland transfer) spied on Louisville dual threat QB Malik Cunningham and made his life a living hell. The defense was well coached on all 3 levels and hit hard showing huge improvement after being ranked 126th in 2020. Freshman kicker Caden Costa went 3/3 on FGs too.

The Rebels had no problems overcoming the absence of head coach Lane Kiffin (Covid). I know it s only week 1 and Louisville could be terrible. But for one night Rebel fans are in high spirits.

I hit my Ole Miss -9 and over 41.5 points bets but lost the Bet With Mintzy parlay because of the Rebels defensive improvement.

Two out of three ain’t bad as they say and I look forward to Picks Central tomorrow at noon Eastern with Brandon Walker very much.

Hell Yeah. Damn Right,
