There Is Nothing Cooler Than a Walk-Off Bomb to Move Into First Place

The Braves blew a ninth inning lead for the second time in less than a week, didn't score in the 10th after keeping the Reds off the board and were down to their final out in the 11th. And then Ozzie Albies LAUNCHED one into the Chop House to save the day and give Atlanta the 8-6 win.

Walk-off homers are always awesome. You only get a handful of them in a season, so it's always a good time. But this one was extra special. Minutes after Albies' game-winner, the Dodgers beat the Phillies, somehow moving the Braves into a tie for first place in the NL East.

I honestly didn't think this Braves team would see the top of the NL East standings this season — and certainly not after losing Ronald Acuña Jr. But the additions of Joc Pederson, Jorge Soler and Adam Duvall have been better than anyone could have asked for and these guys have just kept battling. It's been fun to watch after a first half that could generously be described as "rocky."

It should be an interesting race down the stretch. Atlanta finishes the season with home series against the Phillies and Mets and it looks like this division may very well come down to that final week.

But for now, the reigning back-to-back-to-back champs are back in first place.
