Watching A Man On A Wire Will Always Be Entertaining

After months of preparation and sneaking past World Trade Center security guards to scope out the roof tops of the two towers, Daredevil Phillipe Petit positions his tight rope with a bow & arrow in order to walk across the 94 story drop. After almost an hour of dancing across the wire to the crowd gathered below, police gathered on the rooftops of both towers, ready to apprehend Petit for what he says was "a victimless crime." While Petit is a certified psychopath with no regard for his safety or the safety of others, he seemed harmless enough when he was interviewed in the documentary about the event ...

Man on Wire won an Academy Award in 2008 for best documentary, and after watching the doc its a no brainer why. The drama before Petit even steps foot on the wire feels like a heist movie with the sneaking around and dodging late night security guards. THEN when this batshit crazy man does make it onto the wire you will hold your breath hoping he doesn't fall to his death even though he's literally giving you a sit down interview about how he did it.

Giphy Images.

This documentary runs like a movie, so if you're looking for something to watch this weekend it's worth the $2.99 on Amazon Prime. Unless there you find another way to watch, but I feel like the only thing more lame than paying, is watching on fucking Tubi with commercials.
