MOVIES:

1. Fear Street 1&2 (NETFLIX):  I want to give you a quick warning, these are big time "not for everyone" movies. But I appreciated both of them for the slasher movies they are, and liked the second one even more than the first.

2. The Strangers (NETFLIX): This is a pysch horror movie that really resonated with me growing up. It hit my perfect teen zone where I saw it with friends and I thought it was the best movie ever. I don't think so anymore, but it's still pretty damn solid.

3. Rounders (HBO MAX): The gambling crew had that whole debate about what the best gambling movie was, and Nate was 100% correct in that Rounders is among the best. Damon is great, but Malkovich steals the show.

4. Clerks (HBO MAX): If you're talking about iconic indie movies, Clerks has to rank among the top of them. It is a funny, hilarious slacker movie that is extremely relatable even all these years later.

5. Escape from New York (HBO MAX): Kurt Russell as Snake Plissken may be one of the best cast roles of all time. It is one of my favorite dystopian action movies and you should definitely check it out.

6. 13 Assassins (HULU): This is a japanese-language remake of the movie of the same name and it rocks. Worth it for the final, insanely long battle scene alone.

7. The Art of Self Defense  (HULU): I haven't recommended this movie in a while, and it still needs more eyes. It's VERY funny, very dark and just full of lines you will love.

8. The Abyss (PRIME VIDEO): I just recommended this in my top sci-fi blog and for good reason. I still think it is under-appreciated in the Cameron catalogue, to the point where massive Aliens and T2 fans haven't seen it.

9: Signs (PRIME VIDEOS):  I still have a deep reverence for this movie and the way it teased the reveal of the aliens for so long. I'm telling you, not showing the audience the big bad is sometimes so much scarier than having a known evil.

10. We Bought a Zoo (DISNEY PLUS): If you have kids, this is a home run.

SHOWS:

1. Heist (NETFLIX): I'm only a few episodes into this show, but I am liking it a lot. It's about a real-life heist and has both fictionalized parts portrayed by actors and real life interviews which I like.

2. I Think You Should Leave S2 (Netflix): This show has a permanent spot for the month. I don't think it is as good as S1, but it is still VERY funny. Best skit show in the game right now.

3. Loki (DISNEY+): They nailed the finale, so if you were waiting to see how it turned out, now is the time to start.
