It Is With A Heavy Heart I Announce That Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Will Not Be Participating In The Home Run Derby This Year

There goes one big fish we all wanted to see in the Derby. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. saying that he won't be participating in the Home Run Derby in Colorado in a few weeks and instead will take time to regroup and stay fresh for the second half of the season. Makes sense in the long term and makes sense for his team but that isn't fun for us fans. We want the big guns in there.  We've already got the MLB HR leader in Shohei Ohtani in the field and it would have been awesome to see the guy that he just passed in homers. I respect his decision but I hate it. Don't want to mess up the swing, get some rest, I get it. But give the fans what they want. Vladdy Jr hitting absolute tanks deep into the Colorado night. He's got to save his swings for games that actually matter and that is fine, we still have a few other dream guys that could be added to the lineup. Ronald Acuña Jr, Juan Soto, I'd love to see Tatis Jr but with his injuries I don't think he'd even sniff it. A few big fish still left in the pond but I think all of baseball would have loved to see a potential Vladdy Jr - Ohtani showdown in the derby. I'm still all jacked up for the potential field that we could get.
