It’s the Memorial Day Weekend WNBA Gambling blog!
Three games in the evening tonight, and they are all fun.
The first game pits the Sparks against Sky in Chicago, with Chicago a -2.5 favorite and the o/u at 169.5. Both teams are struggling a bit to start the season, with the Sky being 0-3 at home. I don’t expect that to continue. Parker and Quigley are out for the Sky, who have struggled to score. So I lean Chicago -2.5 but like the under.
THE PICK: u166.5
In the second game, the struggling Indiana Fever visit the powerhouse Las Vegas Aces. Vegas is a huge -13.5 favorite and the o/u is set at 169.5. Indiana has struggled ATS of late (1-7 in their last 8) so even though this is a huge line, at least the Aces have played well this year at 4-2. So although this seems like a trap line, I like the Aces to cover and kind of handily, even without Kelsey Plum and Destiny Slocum.
THE PICK: Aces -13.5
The final game of the Memorial Sunday slate is Connecticut vs. Minnesota, with Connecticut being a -2 favorite and the o/u at 156.5. The Lynx are having a bizarre start to the season at 0-4. This team is much better than their record shows, and it’s a bit of a mystery as to why they are underperforming. Powers’ injury hasn’t helped, of course, but after a close opening day loss, they haven’t been particularly close since. The Sun have played well this year at 4-1, so this line is deceptive. Vegas clearly thinks that the Lynx are better than their record shows. I’m buying that.
THE PICK: Lynx +2
Check back tomorrow for a slate of four WNBA Memorial Day games. I'll update this blog tomorrow, and as always, you may hate the WNBA and rage online about how women’s basketball is the WORST. But always remember that these women can make you money.
Don't let gender keep you from winning money.
