Neighborhood Kids Shower Tim Stützle's Yard With Lids After His First, Crowdless NHL Hat-Trick
Ottawa Senators rookie Tim Stützle (aka Jimmy Stü) scored his first NHL hat-trick the other night with just a few seconds left in the game. But because games in Canada still don't have any crowds, the young German wasn't able to get the customary hat tosses from fans to celebrate. At least until a garrison of neighborhood kids came by his place that he shares with fellow young studs Josh Norris and Brady Tkachuk and filled their yard with hats to give him his delayed flowers.
Annnnnd the NHL has me reaching for the Kleenex yet again.
Between T.J. Oshie...

Elvis Merzlikins...
and now Jimmy Stü, NHL fans have gotten some pure, emotional moments that have moved us on some level. Whether in farewell, absentia, victory, or grief, the last week or so has run the full gamut of tears. And we haven't even started the playoffs yet.
(Nothing like having three future All-Stars living in the duplex next door.)
