Well Shit, Jaylen Brown's Season Is Officially Over

And just like that, the season from hell gets even worse. My heart breaks for Jaylen, I don't even know how else to say it. Even in this mostly dogshit season, Jaylen has been one of the few bright spots. He's basically had the best year of his career. A first time All Star, career highs pretty much across the board

this is pretty much the final nail in the coffin of the 2020-21 Celtics season. Even will all the underachievement and the frustrating losses, you get in a playoff series and anything can happen. It becomes about matchups. Well, not having your second best player for the rest of season pretty much seals your fate. Here I was thinking all that Jaylen was dealing with was his ankle issue, then we get this news? Unreal. What an absolutely cursed season this is shaping up to be.

My immediate thoughts are now what happens moving forward. They'd obviously be silly to rush Rob back, especially with a lingering foot issue. It's probably a wrap for him for a while as well. Then my brain starts to wonder is it even worth going for the play in? To put extra miles on Kemba's knee or give those extra miles/workload to Tatum? For what? The problem is, you can't exactly tank, you've won too many games to even think about flirting with the high lottery. Maybe this will allow Brad to give an extended run to Nesmith/Romeo so you can see what you might have there, but who knows.

It's just a gigantic shit sandwich any way you slice it. From Google it looks like we're talking 3-6 months before you can even practice. That's basically the entire offseason. God does this suck. I can't even count all the ways they are going to miss Jaylen the rest of the way. He actually gave a shit.

I'm honestly still in shock processing this all in real time. Now we know why Brad sounded to cryptic about Jaylen's return. Shit fucking sucks
