Wade Miley Saw How Fun It Was To Throw A No-Hitter And Decided To Join In On The Fun

Look at Wade Miley shoving on a Friday night! He saw John Means throw his no-no the other night and he wanted to join in the fun too. His was a little different, Miley and the Reds went into the 9th tied 0-0 before they broke it open in the top of the inning and putting some runs up. That had to calm his mind. He did go into the bottom of the 9th with 106 pitches and finished with 114 so he made quick work in the 9th. But he absolutely dominated this Cleveland team. 8 Ks, 1 walk and that was it. His 255th start all time and he only had 1 complete game shutout under his belt, well now he has 2 and one is a no-hitter. So he now joins John Means, Carlos Rodon, and Joe Musgrove (and Madison Bumgarner if you chose to acknowledge it) as pitchers with no-nos this year. Pretty cool he did it 2 days after Means did too, they do always say pitching is contagious. Miley started out on fire, he retired the first 16 guys he faced before the walk.

A lot of people legit forgot Wade Miley was still in baseball, I know I did. But he's had a damn good season so far. Heading into this game he had a WHIP of 0.77, 2.06 ERA, and 26 Ks in 35 innings. Good for Miley for continuing his stellar season with this no hitter. And for Cleveland, no-hit twice in what, 30 games? Yikes! Not great at all. And I'm not taking anything away from Miley, but is there a more boring matchup for a no-hitter? Cleveland and Cincinnati? Regardless, go wild Cincinnati! You get your no-hitter. Congrats to Miley on the no-no and MLB history!
