What A Joke: SNL Cast Members "Won't Be Forced" To Appear With Elon Musk When He Hosts The Show Next Week

Source - “Saturday Night Live” cast members won’t be forced to appear alongside controversial billionaire Elon Musk when he hosts the show, Page Six is told.

“Speaking historically, if a cast member has been that unhappy, they don’t have to do it,” a source told us. “[‘SNL’ boss Lorne Michaels] won’t ever make them do anything they don’t want to do.”

The Tesla founder, 49, is set to helm the NBC institution on May 8 — but some cast members have made it clear that they’re less than enthused by the prospect of having him on stage at Studio 8H.

What a joke. What an absolute joke. I wrote about the initial outrage expressed by some cast members last week when it was announced that Musk would be hosting, but for those of you who didn't read here it is...

My main point was that any real comedian would realize what a golden opportunity this is for comedy. Especially if you're a comedian that doesn't like Musk. They're essentially being given an opportunity to roast him to his face and yet, I guarantee, half of them will turn it down in favor of making a political (?) statement. Oh well. The good news is hopefully this will give some of the lesser known cast a chance to shine.

Here's what Michael Che had to say about the situation...

As for Michael Che, the “Weekend Update” host, 37, kidded to Jimmy Fallon this week that he hopes the billionaire will uphold the “SNL” tradition of hosts giving “a couple million dollars” to each cast member.

Good to see at least one person is still trying to be funny. Apparently Miley Cyrus has also been roasted for signing up to perform on Musk episode. Oh well. It'll be interesting to see who actually sits out and who decides to stay and do their job. Time will tell. Have a great weekend, everybody.
