Ronald Acuña Jr. Hit A Home Run So Hard That It Physically Broke The Ball

Stop me if you've heard this before, Ronald Acuña Jr. was punishing baseballs last night, he added 2 more homers and now has 5 on the year, shooting for that 50/50 season. The story isn't the home runs, it's what he physically did to the baseball.

Could someone please explain to me what the hell Acuña Jr. did to the baseball to make it look like this? People said "it's the pitchers nail markings", no way. Theres no chance a ball would stay in play that long and not get thrown out. Did it hit something when it got hit out? Maybe a railing? But there would be a pattern on the ball, these are just randomly placed there, did he hit it so hard the grain in the bat caused it? Maybe? He's strong as shit so I wouldn't count that out. That ball is legit destroyed, those seams are holding on for dear life. It looks like that thing that makes Kayce sick, Trypophobia. The exit velocity on it was 110.8 according to BaseballSavant.com, that's not groundbreaking or anything, it's fast but not fast enough to make the ball look like that.

Are there eggs in the ball that are hatching? You can see where the ball goes out in right field, it's like a little shelf thing it lands in because the people go over it to get the ball. I'm no longer fascinated with his raw power and homers, give me the reason why the ball would be destroyed like that. No way they grabbed a BP ball, marked it up and said it was the Acuña Jr. ball right? I think it's aliens, that is the only answer here. Acuña Jr. is such an out of this world player he has aliens marking up the balls. That or the pitcher is terrible at scuffing and marking it up.

But while we're on the home run, this grandma stirring it up was the best part of the whole thing. Keep killing it, grandma.
