Aaron Boone Was Asked Straight Up If Aaron Judge Is Injured And He Didn't Know What To Say
The nonsensical, ridiculous drama regarding Aaron Judge's health continued today. He's out of the lineup for the 2nd straight game, receiving his third rest day in a row. What do we know? We are told it's general soreness, but how are we really dealing with wear and tear general soreness six games into the season? Before that, we were told he was under the weather. Did Judge get sick (not covid, he passed all the tests) and this is the after effects? It's exhausting to just get an answer from Boone and the Yankees medical staff. Boone loves to give the worst non-answers imaginable, leaving fans confused. Credit to Marly Rivera asking that blunt question. It's one that every Yankee fan wants an answer to. Unfortunately, Boone has no idea how to answer it. Jesus Fucking Christ man. This team drives me fucking insane. How does this continue to keep happening? You cannot tell me magic isn't real because someone put a spell on this team a few years ago and it's remained unbroken.
Judge did stretch on the field and participated in BP so you would imagine those are good signs?
That being said, we'll have to see what happens tomorrow and Sunday.
Bigger question that looms is Judge's future with this team. His team control expires after 2022. In an ideal world that player would negotiate an extension after this season. What will that contract look like at this point if there are these constant injury issues? I can't even give you a ballpark guess because of the unknowns.
For now, let's just hope he's in there tomorrow otherwise a retroactive I.L. stint is coming for sure.
