Quack Yeah: The New Mighty Ducks Show Coming Out Next Week Is Going To Have An Episode With A Bunch Of The Original Ducks Coming Back

EW - EW has learned exclusively that most of the stars of the original Mighty Ducks movies are returning for an episode of the upcoming Disney+ revival series. The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers will feature the massive reunion in episode 6, featuring characters from all three films including Elden Henson as Fulton, Matt Doherty as Averman, Vinny La Russo as Adam Banks, Marguerite Moreau as Connie, Garret Henson as Guy, and Justin Wong as Kenny Wu.

"It starts with a fun encounter Coach Bombay [Emilio Estevez] has with Fulton — they have an interesting run-in on the street reminiscent of ways they used to meet each other back in the early days," creator Steven Brill tells EW. "This chance meeting between Bombay and Fulton leads to a bigger story." In a case of life imitating art, Henson first heard about the idea for this reunion when he ran into Brill on the streets of New York while filming Daredevil, and he immediately said yes. "There is a Spirit of the Ducks gala where they're honoring the current coach and the history of the Ducks and that's what brings us all back together," Henson says.

Okay so right off the bat, I need to know how much Joshua Jackson asked for in negotiations here because the fact that Charlie Conway isn't involved is insane. This is a Disney+ series. You don't think that Disney+ has a massive budget? Have you seen Mandalorian? Did you watch WandaVision? I don't think that they'd leave Dawson's Creek out of the mix here unless JoJack came into the negotiating table asking for the rights to Mickey Mouse and a penthouse at the Polynesian.

But either way, this is massive. This has the ability to be the greatest episode of television in the history of television. To get that many Ducks reunited with Bombay is going to be the can't-miss event of the year. Now I'm dying to know what the writers of this show will have had these guys up to over the past 30 years. Like I hope they gave Adam Banks a career in the NHL. I hope they have Averman running an agency. I hope they have Fulton as an alcoholic who fights in beer league. I hope they give Guy Germaine and Connie Moreau a sex scene. I know it's a kid's show but that sex scene is a long time coming. We're gonna show it all.

Basically what I'm getting at here is that I hope the writers of this show read my 3-part blog series when I scripted the perfect Mighty Ducks IV movie a few years ago. If you're a newer Stoolie and missed out on those masterpieces, here you go.

Where are they now:

Moral of the story is that this show is going to be bad, but that's what is going to be so good about it. These guys all look ridiculous now so the fact that they're going to have to play off being international peewee champions is going to be hilarious. I don't think Averman even knows how to skate anymore. But as long as you go into it with that mindset, this show is going to kick ass on March 26. All we can hope for now is that Charlie Conway makes an appearance at some point before it comes to an end. Because Ducks Fly Together.
