5 Years Ago Kanye West Was $53 Million In Debt. He's Now Worth An Estimated $6.6 Billion.

XXL - Kanye West has reportedly doubled his billion-dollar net worth in less than a year.

On Wednesday (March 17), Bloomberg announced that Kanye's net worth has skyrocketed to $6.6 billion. The article suggests a majority of the 43-year-old rapper's earnings come from his sneaker and apparel brand Yeezy. Last year, Kanye claimed he was worth $3.3 billion.

The clothing company has secured partnerships with Adidas AG and Gap Inc. and has reportedly been valued between $3.2 billion and $4.7 billion by UBS Group AG. The value of the rapper-producer's GAP deal, which is expected to be available this summer, could make up as much as $970 million of the aforementioned amount.

Kanye West, take a bow. He has accomplished everything he said he was going to do. Said he was going to be the best rapper alive, he did it. Said he was going to run a billion dollar business, he did it. Said he was going to be the next president of the United States….ok, so ALOMST everything he said he was going to do. But seriously, good for fucking Kanye. We knew he was special when he released College Dropout, Late Registration, and Graduation 3 years in a row, and then obviously My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy which will always be one of the best albums ever made, but we didn't know he was going to become what he is now. He truly did become the fashion mogul he told everyone who would listen to him that he would be, and now $6.6 billion later, truly as the last laugh.

Sometimes it pays off to bet on yourself. This is one such time. And man did Nike fuck up. They had Kanye under contract but refused to pay him royalties. Kanye left for Adidas, who gave him basically full control of the Yeezus brand AND 15% royalties (for comparison, MJ gets 5% royalties from Nike). Yeezys became one of the biggest shoe brands in the world and now Kanye a billionaire 6 times over.

Next stop….the White House? Kidding. I hope.
