Michael Kopech and Garrett Crochet Both Throw Hard And Are Both Fucking Jacked

(SOURCE)

Garrett Crochet was inspired by Michael Kopech before he even met him.

"Michael is a guy I knew about in college," Crochet said Saturday. "I saw a young guy throwing hard, and he was jacked.

"I wanted to go to college, throw hard and be jacked."

As these two play a more prominent role on the pitching staff as time goes on, a new motto might emerge:

"Throw hard and be jacked."

Today is a fucking GREAT day. It's absolutely beautiful outside in Chicago. You can FEEL the Summertime Chi in the air. Mid 50s, nice breeze, and sooner than later we'll be able to smell that fresh cut grass and grills fired up on patios and rooftops. MMMMMMmmmmmmmm yep, I'm talking about this shit

Say what you want about Chicago, we know we have our warts as a city BUT, and this is a massive but, we have the hottest city of all time. It's such a fucking smoke show of a city. Best summer time city on the planet and that's just a fact. Oh, and we have a really fucking good baseball team here. Did you know that? Have I not beaten that into your skulls enough? And no, we're not talking about the Cubs. Their time is over. We're talking about the White Sox and I will continue to shove them down your throats as much as humanly possible.

Two of the players I will be doing that with are Garrett Crochet and Michael Kopech. These two dudes throw fucking fuel and they're both jacked as fuck. Sure, people know how much of a gym rat Kopech is, but I don't think people realize what a horse Crochet is though. A lot of people compare him to Chris Sale which I think is a lazy comparison. The two are both lefties with funky arm angles and the comp pretty much stops there. The motherfucker is jacked, just strong as a goddamn Ox.

And he throws hard. REALLY fucking hard. We're gonna start with Kopech because I still think he might just be the best pitcher in the Sox rotation, and yes, Giolito is still here. Let's take a look at his highlights:

Michael Kopech:

And here is his Baseball Savant profile:

Now this is from 2018 and his stats are skewed because he was throwing with a torn UCL in his last start and sitting like… 92MPH. Something was off. But on any given night, the dude still sits 98-99 and tops 100+, BUT REMEMBER THIS FACT - NOT ALL FASTBALLS ARE CREATED EQUAL!!!!

Kopech has elite carry and spin on his fastball, meaning that 99MPH reading is perceived as a higher velocity reading than it actually is. He has one of the very best fastballs on planet earth and it's only topped by a few people, if that, including his teammate Garrett Crochet:

Garrett Crochet:

Peep the highlights below:

Absolutely absurd spin and he commands the fastball pretty damn well. In the pen, he can live with his +++ fastball and + slider while working on his change for when he becomes a starter down the road. I wish there was a Baseball Savant profile for him, but he didn't register enough data in his limited appearances last year. Imagine getting 3 innings of Kopech then 3 innings of this as an opposing lineup:

Not fun!!! But that's what opposing lineups are going to get this year and it's going to be a lethal combo. I cannot fucking wait. These dudes are gonna be two of the many White Sox players that become household names this year. They both throw hard and they're both fucking jacked.
