Donovan Mitchell Went 12-34 Shooting, But A Perfect 4-4 Contradicting Himself Whilst Complaining About The Refs After The Game

Ben Simmons put on a Rookie of the Year type of performance last night making life miserable for Donovan Mitchell. Sure, he put up 33 points on the night. But if it weren't for Ben, he could have gone for 81.

So it was a pretty rough shooting night for the Spida. I'm not a big math guy but 12 for 34 sure doesn't seem like a strong percentage to me. That's certainly not going to cut it. But while his shooting percentage was low last night, the excuses percentage? The amount of times he contradicted himself during those excuses? Donovan Mitchell had a career night in that department firing off a cool 100%. Let's go through the highlights real quick.

"I'm never one to blame the refs".

- Goes on to blame the refs for the remaining 60 seconds of that clip.

"We're nice. We don't complain. We don't get frustrated. We fight through things".

- Uhhhh you sure looked a little frustrated here when you assaulted the security guard with a Gatorade jug on your way to the tunnel. That wasn't very nice, now was it?

Also seemed to be doing a fair share of complaining when you got this Sixers fan kicked out of a game last season. Couldn't have just fought through that one?

"The fact that we just continually get screwed".

- I beg to differ.

And then finally--"We won this game, in my personal opinion"

- Well…about that….

So there you have it. A perfect 100% from Donovan Mitchell in that post game press conference.

Never let the facts get in the way of a good story, boys and girls. If Donovan Mitchell says that they won that game last night well then guess what? He and the Utah Jazz are undefeated this season for all he's concerned. And while he's at it, he also has the 2017-18 NBA Rookie of the Year trophy on display in his living room. Reality is all what you make it.
