Professional Hair Salon was established in 1972, as the Livingston Mall Barbershop, by my father, Calogero (Carlo) Fazio and his late partner, Mario Rinaldi.

What started as an eight chair barbershop has expanded and evolved into a 30 chair full service salon servicing men, women, and children.

I, Carlo Fazio, have been running the salon for my father since 1994.  Our family business is now the longest running business in the Livingston Mall, possibly one of the longest continuous running salons in a Mall in the country {I can not verify this, but I do not know of  many businesses, not to mention salons (especially family owned, in it's original location) located in regional Shopping Centers that have been in business that long}.

Sears was the last original anchor/tenant but closed on April 11, 2020, giving us the distinction.   Since then the other anchor Lord & Taylor has also closed, leaving us with only one anchor store still standing, Macy's.

To say being in business these days is tough is an understatement.  To be in business in a Mall, that is another story all together, but we continue to push!

We are relying on our remaining staff and existing client base to power us through this!

Our salon is known for it's strong walk in business as well, but due to Covid-19 restrictions that segment of our business has been drastically hurt.

This year, 2021, marks our 49th year in business and I would like nothing more than for us to  hang a "50 YEARS in Business" banner in January 2022!!!

To answer the question, what makes the business special….

Being that we are a truly Mom and Pop operation we are able to do things for our staff and clients that corporate stores can not or will not.

We consistently donate to charities & school fundraisers.

Our salon can be counted on for "tricky tray" donations, PTO events, local sports programs, & much more.

We recently sponsored a high school student with special needs through a school program that strives for them to experience real world work place experience.

Our Kidz Kuts section specializes in haircutting for many special needs children, giving those families a safe and comfortable space for haircuts, a service many of   us take for granted.

Our salon has always been a place where the community would see each other, whether religious groups, sports teams, & teachers/students while having their   services done and catch up, etc.

As employers, we have helped many employees through the decades…

We have assisted employees in many personal matters ranging from difficult issues like domestic abuse situations, dealing with loss of loved ones to cash assistance to help bridge financial gaps that tend to arise in life.
