We are applying because we are struggling to pay bills. Most bars and restaurants have found a way to survive amidst the pandemic because they can offer takeout and work with door dash and Uber eats etc. We, however are an exclusive drinks/only bar and we have been forced to completely close for many months last year because there is simply not enough sales and no alternatives. Just like theaters, we are also a performance venue with contract gig workers (from performers, bartenders to lights and sound people) relying on us for their livelihood. We took over the business just two years ago and really have not even started to recoup our investment when everything stopped. We have suffered about 67% revenue lost since last year. We are the only gay bar in town offering lgbtq community a safe place to gather.
