Kentucky Just Exposed Tennessee For Being What It Is - A Sorry Ass Team That Won't Ever Win
Another year of the same old, same old. We hear how Tennessee is ready to compete for a national title, this team is different. They have 5-stars! Rick Barnes is happy in Knoxville and has his own guys there. This is the team that can get to a Final Four. But the more things change, the more things stay the same. Tennessee continues to be a sorry ass program that just won't ever win. There's a reason they don't have a Final Four ... ever. There's a reason when they had their dream season it resulted in a Sweet 16 loss, not winning the SEC Tournament and not winning the SEC regular season.
Actually, let's check in on a beloved Tennessee fan
Ohhh you just HATE to see Tennessee fans worry that Rick Barnes is who he's always been. A guy who can recruit, win some games, but ultimately not be the answer to a ton of success. Look at all the talent he had at Texas, he made one Final Four in 2003. Now his team can barely score 50 points against the worst Kentucky team in decades? Yikes. All these 5-stars and they can't run a competent offense? Even bigger yikes.
And yes, ultimately it was Kentucky's best game of the season. Davion Mintz continues to finally hit threes. Jacob Toppin, yes that Jacob Toppin, is improving. Isaiah Jackson looks like a legit lottery pick and BJ Boston is figuring it out. No real surprise the top freshmen are figuring it out now, it's always that way there's just a typical season and this happens in late December, not February.
PS: Three in a row, not getting excited at all yet, no matter what Big Cat says. Long way to go.
